TATTOO AFTER CARE

Tattoo aftercare the most essential part of getting tattooed. The way you take care of your tattoo is what determines how it looks. Dont be afraid to reach to an artist for help if you ever need it.

Most of the time when you get your tattoo from me, I will apply a Shield on the tattoo. Each time you use a dressing it will protect from air borne bacteria and keep the tattoo area clean. These are also waterproof as well. This means you can be under water longer than traditional aftercare (NOT RECOMMENDED)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Leave Shield on for 4-5 days. If it tends to peel off earlier than that, thats ok. Just try to leave it on (IF THIS HAPPENS AND YOU HAVE NO EXTRAS, REFER TO THE TRADITIONAL AFTERCARE SECTION). The Shield may fill with fluids (THIS IS NORMAL). Sometimes it is good to change the Shield if it becomes too full.

2. After 4-5 days, take the Shield off in the shower and clean well. Make sure to lotion the tattoo with any type of lotion(s) listed in the "TRADITIONAL AFTERCARE SECTION".

3. Your tattoo will itch and flake. Do not pick or itch your tattoo, You may pat your tattoo to relieve some of the itchiness.
​
4. Although your tattoo bandage is waterproof, I recommend that you do not go swimming for at least a week and also take quicker SHOWERS than normal. DO NOT take baths with a new tattoo

TIP: Sometimes its a good idea to buy a roll of Saniderm to have at home in case you need extra.

TRADITIONAL AFTERCARE
TAKE CARE OF YOUR TATTOOS
1. Let tattoo dry out for at least 2 days
2. Start applying the lotion of your choice 3 times a day for at least a month
4. no direct sunlight, long periods in the shower/bath
5. Do not cover back up at any point
6. No picking or scratching the tattoo
7.No swimming
